What We Offer
We offer care to infants beginning at 6 weeks – 23 months. Your baby’s primary caregivers are child development professionals who focus on creating a nurturing environment for your child. The early months of life are crucial to healthy brain development. As caregivers we create opportunities for exploration and support the rapid and important development that is occurring in a child’s first year. Infants in our care are not only cared for physically, but academically and socially as well. Your infant will be presented with educational activities that boost the brain, encourage first words, build strong bodies and help make new friends.
Infants in our care will eat, nap and rest as needed. Because young infants are on a different schedules, our staff works with each parent to create an individual infant activity plan for the younger children. Older infants (around 18-24 months) will slowly transition to our toddler program. As your child grows into a toddler, he/she will participate in a safe nurturing environment. Our goal is to help your child grow socially, emotionally, and physically. Our teacher led and group activities will help enhance your child’s development. Children will learn to complete activities as a group and learn to sit during a small circle time. During this time children will sing songs, learn fingerplays, listen to stories and participate in crafts and learning activities.
Our goal is to love, care for, and meet the needs of each individual child. We will work with you to ensure the best care your child deserves.
Little Crusaders Daycare realizes that toddlers are busy body’s discovering their world. Toddlers learn best in a safe, loving environment where they can explore, in their own way. Our staff will care for your child and help encourage their curiosity by providing that safe, loving active learning environment.
During their time with us, your toddler will learn to count, discover writing, music, follow simple instructions and the potty. Each day is packed with carefully designed activities that will encourage language, social, cognitive and physical development.
We teach through what children do best: Play. We fully believe at this age that the body teaches the brain. Children will participate in planned activities as well as open-ended experiences. Toddlers will move at their own pace and learn through discovery.
Our ratios are kept low so toddlers will have one on one interaction daily. We get to know and love each of the children in our care. We work on building relationships with each of our families and work together to create a positive and nurturing learning experience for every child.
Little Crusaders offers not only child care to your child, but a sound preschool program for your three year old. We believe the early years are vital for a child’s learning. Children in our K3 class will continue to learn through discovery, but will also learn through a more structured group experience and will quickly learn to follow simple classroom routines and directions.
Preschoolers love to explore through hands-on activities. In our K3 classroom we combine kindergarten readiness activities with a stimulating, creative environment. We recognize that the three-year-old needs to be engaged in learning and also nurtured at the same time. Within this safe environment, they can grow and thrive in all areas of their growth and development.
At this age, children require challenges, respond to motivation, are inquisitive, and crave praise. They are fine tuning their respect for others and are developing a sense of confidence in their accomplishments. They want to share all their life’s experiences and find an avenue to do so through emergent writing. They tell a story, the teacher writes it down, they draw a picture of it, then they tell their class about their story and picture.
In designated areas your preschooler will engage in various activities that will prepare them for their future including construction and design, dramatic play, free art, reading and listening, writing, math, and science. They are using their imaginations and developing their motor skills as they grow more independent each day. They are learning character training by seeing these patterns in the Bible.
Their day includes the following:
- Learning Centers – bring educational themes to life and to give real life experiences
- Circle Time – where they learn about their environment, read books, sing songs, social skills, pre-reading skills, and beginning academics
- Music and Movement – integrated throughout the day provides enjoyment, mood changing events, and listening skills
- Free Play – their best avenue of learning
- Outdoor play – at least 30 minutes in morning and 30 minutes in afternoon
- Lunch and naptime – time to nourish and rest their little growing bodies
Our threes are encouraged to work together, develop patience while sharing, and to use their creativity in the world around them.
Our K4 program is the final step in preparation for Kindergarten. The quest still continues to prepare your child to be successful academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. We want the transition from K4 to Kindergarten to make it easy to be successful. We have many fun activities to achieve these goals.
We offer a half day and full day Preschool program. Our highly qualified teaching staff makes your child’s learning exciting by being positive, encouraging, and creative. They will be in an environment rich in experiences, play, and education. The learning is taking place where they can feel valued, safe, and special.
A typical day includes a Bible story, counting , letter recognition and phonics, writing, diversified art projects, and science experiments. Music is integrated in almost every learning experience. Communicating successfully, and working well both in groups and independently is emphasized in all parts of the day. All teacher-child interactions provide teachable moments to guide and extend learning.
Your child will take what they learned in our K3 program and build upon their learning. Using the A’beka curriculum we provide an excellent introduction to reading phonetically. Beginning with letters and sounds, students will progress to blending consonants and short vowel sounds, to reading words, sentences, and stories in their own reading books.
Our K4 teacher has a unique way of dealing with 4’s. She guides them to practice social skills, helping them to communicate and express feelings using their words.
We wish to cultivate a partnership with each family to accomplish education and training goals with their child. Because of this, you will be kept informed as to what is happening during your child’s day at LCDC and how your child is doing in all areas of development.
We praise character above achievement. As character is praised, children are motivated to develop strong character qualities which will result in better achievement.
We offer care in the summer for school age children K5-6th grade. Our summer program is more than just a daycare. We offer a full summer of fun filled activities. Our summer school-age child care program offers students a fun environment with a variety of activities. Students can explore during science time, develop their creativity during craft time, act and dress-up during drama time, play on the outside equipment and in the gym. Children will participate in special days throughout the summer (Ex. Water days, bike day, dress up days…etc.) We desire that each child reach individual goals physically, mentally, and socially. During summer camp children develop close friendships and learn social skills.
